I think the key is having the day old rice. My mom makes fried rice on the occasion and she always uses fresh rice. Aged rice is the way to go!
And the sesame oil...I think we got in at a specialty store? although it didn't seem all too rare to me. Great stuff with an excellent bite. You don't need a lot to cook with, either.
