fredericks: (IRod - Starman!)

The hour and thirty-five minutes of Iron Man I managed to see was incredibly awesome. I was initially hesitant to check it out because a lot of the people who gave it thumbs up were the same people who seemed to like Transformers, and my hatred of Transformers has no bounds. But Iron Man? SO much better. Robert Downey Jr? Going on the list (he'll probably bump off Gerald Tarrant). We didn't get to see the whole film because the theatre's projector shut off *three times*. The first time we got about a hour and twenty-five minutes it - reaching the climax of the film - when the audio shut off and the houselights came up. We hopped over to a new showing that hadn't started yet, got an hour and thirty minutes in, and *everything* shut off. We waited for ten minutes and the film started again, but five minutes in it shut off. Again. By this time it was quarter to one in the morning (we'd initially gotten to the theatre at nine for the 9:30 showing), so we threw in the towel. Since I'm working this weekend I won't be able to see it until Monday, and that's annoying as all hell. Anticipation and all that rot.

oh no! that seriously sucks! I have to see if this is playing by my house. I might have to check it out this week. Sadly, I haven't been in a movie theatre since transformers!

Oh man. :) Well, I think this one is worth seeing in a theatre.

Well, *that* sucks. No refund?
Are you planning on naming names?

And I didn't mention the fact that there was no AC. It was like a sweathouse in that place.
We got a full refund, and apparently we could have waited on another massive line for courtesy passes but it was late enough as it was so I didn't want to bother.

not even AC?! damn, i feel sorry for the people who work there...

i never had the slightest desire to see transformers; but then, i was never into the cartoon as a kid. actually i'm not really into american comics/cartoons in general except for x-men (sort of), so my opinion doesn't really count.

OH! i wanted to tell you, in case you didn't know, [livejournal.com profile] bushidoangels released a new saika kuneida chapter with your favorite couple called "top of the lip." ^^ </ yaoi spam>

Thanks for the link! I actually like when it's in the same 'verse as the Memory of the Future stories, but I'll get my fix any way I can get. You're awesome. :)

Ooh, thats some pretty horrible bad luck! I myself just saw it this afternoon, and apparently just before I went into the theater (I was running late and missed a few previews), there was some kind of altercation that involved a crying baby and some shouts of "shut that fucking kid up!" Thusly, the entire theater got free passes, even those like me who missed the actual outbreak. :)

Oh, as an fyi - when you do get to see the end, stay until the end of the credits. It's very worthwhile, trust me.

Lucky you. :) And thanks for the heads-up about the post-credit stuff.

The projector shut down three times in one movie? Wow, that's even slightly worse than our theater, and that's saying a lot!
