(no subject)

So the goal for the next couple of hours, as it is every Saturday morning/afternoon (because by Saturday evening I'm already morose and mourning my imminent return to work), is to GET MY SHIT TOGETHER. Never mind that I've been up since 6:30 and all I've managed to do is shower, ingest a large bowl of cereal and half a cup of tea, change into a shirt and socks (porn star-style; I've yet to come across a pair of jeans), and peruse a couple of websites (there were two twists to The Prestige? I guess I didn't consider the revelations that much of a shock. I thought I'd missed something). GO TEAM ME!

My tentative plan is to actually make my way down the street to the beauty parlor and get my hair chemically altered, and then, if sitting under a dryer for one hour doesn't make me homicidal, maybe head over to the mall to get a new back up hard drive to replace the one I damaged by dropping (if I send it in to Seagate will they retrieve the data and put it on another drive for me? all my songs are on that thing!). And then, you know, GET MY SHIT TOGETHER. Because that's how I roll.

Note - I've been trying to achieve G.M.S.T. -ness for the last couple of weekends. There's something about this summer that is sapping my energy. At least, that's the excuse this year.

Ha! I managed to get my hair done and that was about it. Didn't even find it in me to make up my bed either day this weekend. My ish? Still undone. Joy.

So one of the twists was that the guy was twins, which I didn't see coming. Was the other one that he was killing off his doubles instead of really teleporting? Because that was so obvious I was surprised that I was supposed to be surprised by it.

BUT David Bowie as Nicola Tesla makes up for everything.

Also, I dreamt we were hanging out again last night. It was cool. Which reminds me: are you still thinking of coming up for Arisia?

Because that was so obvious I was surprised that I was supposed to be surprised by it.
The interwebs seem to agree that was the "twist." I didn't consider that much of a surprise at all. I spent much more time wondering whether Jackman's character ended up being a clone of a clone of a clone et cetera at the end, or if the original ended up having to kill off all of his copies instead. Much more interesting morality tale that way.

Bowie as Tesla was HILARIOUS. I mean, it's BOWIE. I just kept saying "dude, that's Bowie with a really horrendous Eastern Euro accent" and then giggling. '

And I am planning on coming to Arisia. I actually think I put in for vacation that week, which should be pretty awesome. Thanks for the link reminder. :)
