Lessee here...
Well, James, I consider myself to be extremely lucky to have run across your LJ. One of the few times I used the "random" function and I struck virtual gold. You're obviously passionate about your family, politics, and those around you. It's something that I admire immensely about you, that you can intelligently dissect what's going on out there and post so eloquently about it (although at times you seem to doubt your posting prowess; why? I don't know).
That, and you come across as a fuckin' fun person to knock a beer (or two, or three...) back with and just chill. That's key. You're a cool dad. *grin*

2. I will also tell you what song(s) remind me of you when I hear it.
The main song that reminds me of you? Quite obviously Falco's Der Kommissar. A given. And for some random reason Led Zeppelin's cover of When the Levee Breaks. I think I might have gotten my first play of it while reading something you wrote and it's just...stuck.

3. I will also tell you what fictional character you remind me of, either personality-wise or looks-wise.
Looks...this is hard. If you weren't smiling in your icon pic I'd have to say Professor Snape ala Harry Potter. Because I'm reaching. I've got nothing, man.

I wish I knew you better. I really do. You expose just enough of yourself to the world that I *think* I know something about you...but then I remind myself of what you told me when we first started interacting, which was that you really don't share anything you hold as significant. It saddens me slightly, but it also has me smiling and slightly in awe. The glimpse of you I've been gifted with over these last few months is a testament of strength, resilience, and (as the kids say) kick-ass-ness. And if this is just a glimpse? you must indeed be a force to be reckoned with. There's much to admire about you.

Tough, as you no doubt can attest to, because we haven't been interacting for too long. But, if memory serves me correctly , I was drawn to your LJ because of the frank and open way you wrote and addressed your friends. I was surprised you were a guy, to be honest, because in my experience that sort of emotional openness is hard to find from males, even online. It was refreshing. You cherish your friendships, and always have a kind or encouraging word to share if someone requires it. That's a strength in my book. You come across as a great human being.

Nothing at the moment. I don't know you that well, and I just realized that I also don't really know what type of music you listen to.
