It's dun been hot in herre (!)

Can anyone volunteer a hot weather meal? I'm tempted to make spaghetti and meatballs because it's too damn hot to have the oven running but *then* I think it's too hot to eat something like that. No cold soups or anything, but just a meal. I'm at a loss for dinner options here. I have to feed six people, three of them adolescent males.

Re: the weather - Just blazin', in-frakkin-deed. I was supposed to run errands yesterday but just imagining standing in the sweltering subway stations kept my ass inside. I'm going to have to get over to school eventually, though. Joy.

How about just making a big salad and getting a bunch of cold meats, cheeses, buns and then let everyone make their own sandwiches?

Otherwise, yeah, I'd vote for spaghetti and meatballs.

They recommend the microwave when it's too hot to cook, so frozen food, anything that actually cooks in the microwave, a slow-cooker . . .

Or just go out to eat, where you're sure to have some nice AC to work with.

I know you said no cold soups, but man I had gazpacho the other day and it made me feel so much better...
