The proper response to everything being "that's why I've got it wrapped in this special CIA napkin". It never gets old.

Came in a little while ago from watching "Dreamgirls". Not my first choice, but the aunt-unit was looking a tad lonely and I figured some time with her wouldn't kill me. I spent a good bit of time rolling my eyes over the cheese, but *goddamn* can the girl from American Idol sing or what? I was waiting for "I'm Not Going" and I was not disappointed at all. I teared up a bit, not going to front. Other than that Beyonce still can't act, Jamie Foxx's singing was surprisingly crappy, and every time Eddie Murphy opened his mouth I pictured Donkey (from Shrek) and laughed. It's one of those movies that are (IMO) best watched on DVD so you can fast-forward past the corniness. Leaving the movies I felt like checking out a romance so I went into Blockbuster and picked up the A&E/BBC version of Pride and Prejudice. Colin Firth! *swoon*

Christmas was neat. I worked the Eve and then headed out to St. Barts for the Episcopalian version of Midnight Mass (at 11PM), walking through Rockefeller Center on my way to check out the Tree (anti-climatic), the windows at Saks (more of the same), and the crowd and police presence outside St. Pats waiting for the RC Mass at Midnight (lines to get in like whoa). Came back in around 2AM and promptly threw my exhausted ass into bed. My haul this year wasn't so much with the variety, but still I have no complaints: two Visa gift cards combined totalling $175, a $20 Starbucks gift card, a variety of lotions (with all the handwashing I do on a daily basis that one was very much appreciated), $100 in cash, and some shirts that I'll most likely never wear (horizontal stripes need only be worn by women smaller than a size 6). The great part about this Christmas was being able to buy presents for all of my immediate family members and a few of my extended ones. Getting anything at all was a bonus.

The year is drawing to a close and I have so much to be grateful for that I sometimes find myself smiling for no reason at all. I wish I could bottle this feeling to save it for a rainy day...although I *love* rainy days, so ha.

Now I'm off to Austen-world.

huzzah for the episcopalians. i think our pastor was a little tipsy, since he kept slipping into his canadian accent. ("we like our church, eh?")

also, please note that the card made me crack up laughing. i don't do that nearly enough. :)

That feeling is something I'm so happy for you for. Seein' what you've had to put up with in the short time I've known you, I'm so glad you can end this year on a smile, a grin, and maybe a song? (go on, end it with a song....you know you want to)

a 1, a 2, a 1..2..3..4...*dance!*

That version of Pride & Prejudice is just about the best thing ever. I'm going to force my room mates to watch it next semester...time for some payback for the overdose of Gilmore Girls.

Jennifer Hudson rocks like woah. I've heard only good things about her! But Beyonce, on the other hand...I've heard she, well, kind of ruins the movie.

Donkey! Heeee!!!!

Glad your Christmas was nice! I was going to give you a buzz but wasn't sure if you were working, and I didn't want to disturb you. So here's some (kind-of) belated Christmas wishes and hugs! *hugs*

Greatly looking forward to the 12th!

Oh, and one more thing...due to my lack of energy/lack of anything to really update about, I've decided to close my journal. I'll be checking in on the FL, of course, but other than that, I won't be around LJ-Land as much. But you know the email and number, so it's all good. (:

Thank you for the heads up about Dream Girls. I mean... that's pretty much what I expected to hear, but I'm sure I'll still see it anyhow. Just cause... singing is cool.

But yes, thanks!

I love that girl from American Idol! I think I half way watched that season, and she was my favorite. I was sad when she was eliminated, and I stopped watching. Oh, and Colin Firth. ::swoon:: His eyes in that movie were... woo, boy... I'd probably melt into a puddle if he looked at me that way.

and every time Eddie Murphy opened his mouth I pictured Donkey (from Shrek) and laughed

whenever i laugh really hard, i always end with "whoo, i can't breathe, i can't breathe" Donkey was his best role ever! :)

i keep meaning to watch the BBC version of Pride & Prejudice because i always hear great things about it...and Colin ;)
