fredericks: (Being Veep is hard work *snore*)

I have been up all night updating/upgrading the laptop (I feel moved to name it, but then again "The Laptop" covers all the bases). The out-of-wack sleep schedule is, at times, amusing. Not so much fun when I can't get to sleep and I have to work, but right now it's nice to have a quiet house at my disposal. The plan for today, since the temperature has gone from "you WILL lose an earlobe and/or nipple" to "hey, it's rainin' ain't it?" is to visit the library, get a couple new scrubs, and return my extremely overdue videos to Blockbuster. I never got around to watching the Dragonlance movie. All the negative reviews scared me off. Even the power of teh Rosenbaum (as Tanis! TANIS!) couldn't make it happen. It's like, no one *wants* their childhood to be raped, you know? I figure if I'm plied with alcohol and peer-pressured into sitting down for the thing I can make it through. Otherwise, nah. I did watch and thoroughly enjoy "The King of Kong". It was a nice bit of storytelling (please note I'm not using "objective" or "completely honest"; I've heard all the rumbling about the movie since other facts have come to light...but Wiebe and his kids are so damn *cute*!).

Still spinning my wheels, and still trying to find energy to do much of anything beside waking up and going to work, but no real complaints at the moment. Let's see if I can't find it in me to spend more time on the LJ.

I always feel compelled to name my computers. Everyone at my new job was highly amused when I immediately dubbed my new work laptop "The Beast" It's huge! 8 or 9 lbs easy. compared to my little 4lb pretty it is a beast! I've not been able to do much other than work, sleep and try to get used to NY drivers. hopefully once I cam set up in the city I can actually do more than laundry and grocery shop on my day off. right now I am debating driving in the rain/slush to go get an oil change and buy snow boots that actually fit!

You have one of those construction-worker style "EverTuff"s, right? Those are beasts.

And at least it's not icy. I was dreading what would happen if everything froze up after the rain hit us last night, but slush is much preferred. :)
