Happy Early Birthday!

I like your jewelry. I'm constantly being complemented on the necklace. I think the combination of your beadwork and my clavicle's what makes it happen. :)

I rented Sweeney Todd but could never find it in me to watch it. RIght now I'm sitting on Season 1 of Dexter and Eastern Promises. All of 'em have to go back ASAP. When I return them I guess I'll try ST again.

I'm glad you got it and enjoyed it. It got to you house way earlier than I thought it would. The woman at the PO told me 5-10 business days and I was boggled. Craziness.

And I would have e-mailed you on your actual b-day but I don't know what your email is. *pout* Hope your day went well. :)

Date: 2008-06-07 11:01 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] darker-one.livejournal.com
I was going to email you when I received the package, but realized that I didn't have yours. Very weird! Let me correct that: it's l_w_girlNOSPAM@yahoo.com (take out the "NO SPAM" part of the address... which is probably obvious, but I have had people not understand that before so I always explain it now).

Date: 2008-06-07 11:07 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] fredericks.livejournal.com
So it's "l_w_girl[sansspam]@yahoo.com"? I would have put in the no spam otherwise, I'm sure.

Mine is fredericks@livejournal.com. It directs mail to my actual e-mail address, cymorilesque@aol.com. Neat-o. :)

You've got it! I know it should be painfully obvious to remove the no spam, but I really did have to painstakingly explain it to 2 people, so now I just tell everyone, just in case.

Ooo, so that now that I have your address, I can forward you all sorts of fun emails filled with dancing cartoon kittens, and angels that bring you good luck when you pass the email along to 27 of your closest friends! Perfect!*

*seriously, I totally won't do that.

If you want to, if e-mailing me five pieces of mail a day about how real friendship requires you to spam ten people in your address book, feel free. I have a friend who used to do that. The Lord made a "delete" button for a reason. It took her a little while and a couple of days without a reply with the original messages in the body of the e-mail, but she caught on. :)

Aww, Alex...*hugs*

Altered Carbon looks good (however... whoa! $75 for the hardcover at Amazon? Are the pages plated in platinum or something) but the description (http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_gw?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=altered+carbon&x=0&y=0) has me a little worried. I never did get past the first fifty pages of Neuromancer. Do I have to give up my Geek Cred for admitting that?

CP represent!

Is this the pirate story you mentioned to me before? I think after I ranted about how much I despised the Nightrunner series you told me about a pirate book. This one is better than Fortunes of War?

Date: 2008-06-01 07:07 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] captainschlumpy.livejournal.com
You know, I might have. It's better than fortunes of war in that it has a complex plot and good characterization. It's not really a romance at all. There is sex and it's fairly graphic and of course the usual traumatic, angsty past of the lead character though. I didn't like the second book as well as the first. I'm waiting for the third to come out before passing judgement on the whole series but I liked the first one enough to read it twice so far. Fortunes of war is another of those cotton candy books like nightrunner for me. just fluff to amuse myself with and make me giggle!
